I grew up on the south shore of Long Island N.Y. Pretty
good childhood. Mom was good when I was a kid. Not so good when I
grew up. Dad is good now that I’m an adult. Not so good when I was
a kid.
Hated school from nursery to college but I still did a lot of it.
Almost got croaked in a motorcycle accident. If I hadn’t been drunk,
I’d probably be dead. Had no clue about what I wanted to do so I
joined the Army. 3 years down the tubes. Decided to go back to school.
Wanted to help people. While in school, started seeing a therapist.
Couldn’t get comfortable in my own skin. Depressed, anxious, cold
and mean. Counseling most likely saved my life. Also helped me decide
it was the work I really wanted to do. Have worked as a therapist for
years, working with kids, adults, families and clients suffering with
drug or alcohol addiction.

Started compiling material for the books in 1990. Came out with the first one in 2000.
Just after book came out I went home to help the family. My mom had been fighting cancer
for years and the family was pretty burnt. There was no time or energy to push a book.
Mom passed 2 years later after a 6 year battle. Pretty rough time.

Currently living in Indiana. Was working as a therapist at a local hospital acute
unit. Great job. Sad and painful. Currently doing volunteer work. Dream is to earn
enough money from book sales to open a counseling center for the needy, offering food,
clothes, classes and therapy.
